Which modules should be activated for community animation?

minutes of reading

Talkspirit allows you to meet different communication and collaboration needs. We distinguish four families of use:

  • internal communication,
  • collaborative work,
  • community animation,
  • the digital workplace.
You want to bring together and moderate a group of people on the same theme, by promoting networking and collaboration? Your use case is probably the animation of communities! Your goal? Bring together and federate the members of your community!

To bring your community members together, certain modules are essential. Among them:

  • the news feed module,
  • the welcome module,
  • the drive module,
  • the shared calendar module,
  • the chat module.

Find out how to activate/deactivate the different modules here

However, we also strongly recommend that you implement the following modules:

  • the projects module.

And to go even further, some features might interest you:

  • video conferencing,
  • Webinars,
  • the user directory,
  • anniversaries.

The essentials

The news feed module

The news feed is essential to address the themes of your choice and make them evolve. It will allow you to create a group by city, region, and association/entity, and at the same time, more general groups to allow users to share best practices without geographical limits: make best practices local duplicable on a large scale!

💡 Welcome each new member in a group Welcome and help him/her to get in touch with the community by letting him/her introduce him/herself (interests, hobbies, ...).

With the news feed, involve the community:

  • Collect feedback and launch surveys with the survey
  • Set up idea boxes in the form of groups to promote initiatives and encourage innovation.

Do you have a Standard, Premium, or Enterprise subscription for community management? If so, then the news feed module is activated by default on your platform.

Have you disabled it and want to re-enable it? Go toAdministration > News Feed and select Enable News Feed.

The Home module

The Home module is ideal for conveying your organization's values, highlighting initiatives, and involving the community. Share a link to an idea box to encourage innovation, unite your members by posting the best initiatives of the month, bring your members closer together by sharing portraits, and more!

💡The Talkspirit advantage? Create multiple landing pages and target different audiences!

The drive module

If the drive allows you to collaborate on different projects, it can also be very useful in the context of community animation! This module, combined with the Projects and Events modules, will allow you to create an effective editorial calendar that is essential to the success of your platform.

It will allow you to:

  • create, edit and collaborate with other members on content to be shared in groups,
  • federate your members by sharing photo files of your events,
  • transmit information in a harmonized way by sharing replays of meetings or events through recording

moderate your groups with attractive and dynamic contents: create for example practical sheets thanks to the presentation feature that you will display in the news feed as an image gallery!

💡The +? With the OfficeNow office suite integrated into the Drive, accessible online, without the need to download new software, you will be able to:

  • build practical sheets using the presentation tool , and highlight them in a news feed publication,
  • Evolve your content and gather ideas by working in co-edition on the same document in real time,
  • compare different versions of a document for a finer tracking of the progress of your work, and, if necessary, recover deleted information. 👌

Do you have a Standard, Premium, or Enterprise subscription for community animation? If so, then the Drive is activated by default on your platform.

Have you disabled it and would like to re-enable it? Go toAdministration > Drives and select Enable Drives

The Events module

The implementation of the Events module within your organization is essential if you want to bring together the members of your community. This module will allow you to encourage exchanges: identify opportunities for exchange and collaboration by displaying the agendas of community members!

💡The + Talkspirit? Unite more with the Birthdays feature that allows community members to post user birthdays.

The Events module is also an essential module in the construction of content, which is extremely important in the context of community animation.

Create an editorial calendar from the Projects module (shown below), build your content from the Drive and schedule publications with the Events module. Make sure you share content regularly and in a balanced way by entering the different publication dates in your calendar!

Do you have a Standard, Premium, or Enterprise subscription for community animation? If so, then the events module is activated by default on your platform.

The recommended ones

The Projects module

The Projects module is ideal for building an editorial calendar of content to share on your platform.

Take a global view of what has been done and what remains to be done!

Some ideas for information to include in your calendar:

  • the desired date and time of publication (you can set the date and time of publication in your news feed),
  • the recipients concerned (users, groups)
  • the publication format(survey, event, publication, fact sheet, homepage contribution, and more)
  • Importance and priority of contribution through labels (very important, medium, low importance)
  • the main ideas to be shared in the form of a map,
  • the objectives of your publication in the description of the map,
  • any visuals or other content worked on from the drive to be shared in the map.

The Projects module is activated by default on your platform when you subscribe to a Premium subscription for community moderation. Are you on a Standard subscription? Contact us to upgrade your subscription.

Features to go further

Video conferencing

Videoconferencing allows you to bring together the members of your community to discuss a common theme or simply to promote networking during a coffee machine for example.

With video conferencing, several advantages:

  • it doesn't require you to set up specific logistics: join the exchanges easily with a simple click,
  • it does not limit you in time,
  • it doesn't limit you to a geographical location: exchange from wherever you are with your interlocutors, wherever they are!

Download the mobile app to stay on top of interactions, even when you're on the go.

⚠️ It's necessary to have the Chat and/or Events module enabled to use video conferencing.

Find out how:

Webinars

The webinar module allows you to exchange with many participants: gather your community around regular points to present progress, for example.

This module allows you to:

  • conduct interactive webinars with a large audience (close to 200 people, without video)
  • present and collaborate on a whiteboard or on a file of your choice,
  • share polls to gather opinions and vote for the proposals that you prefer,
  • create sub-groups at the main meeting and delve more deeply into the topics you choose.

⚠️ The Events module must be enabled to use the live video feature.

The user directory

The user directory is a key feature of community animation. It allows your members to quickly identify the right people thanks to a dynamic search based on criteria chosen by the user.

To get the most out of this feature, we strongly recommend that all members display completed profile sheets. If need be, you have the possibility, as the platform administrator, to fill in the user information in bulk

💡 Help your members quickly identify the project leaders by inserting a distinctive sign on your profile card: a sticker, colored circle around your photo, and more

The user directory is activated by default on your platform. For more information on this feature, please refer to our dedicated article

Birthdays

The Birthdays feature is ideal for community animation as it helps bring your members closer together and allows for greater social cohesion. By activating the feature, you allow your community to display users' birthdays and contact them to celebrate this special day with them!

The birthday feature is not enabled by default and is available regardless of the community animation plan you subscribe to. To activate it, go to the Administration, Events section and enable the option. For more information about this activation, please refer to our dedicated article

⚠️ You'll need to have the Chat module and the Events module enabled to activate the Anniversaries feature.
